There is no doubt that the best fans appear in Belgium year after year, which we very rarely hear in the UK, while others receive a lot of publicity for one reason or another. Belgian pigeons are sought around the world, in particular, by lovers of the Far East, where sports pigeon competitions are big business, perhaps more perfect, than anywhere else in the world. Competition lovers are by no means new to sports, because they have been around for a long time and have a very popular team of pigeons.
Etienne De Rauw and Frans Sablon are both from a family of pigeon specialists, probably from the same family. Etienne De Rauw is 66 years old, Frans Sablon is 61 years old and both of them have been pigeon specialists for about 50 years, which shows a lot of experience.
They did not always form a partnership, competing separately in the past, but even before they both formed a partnership through their fathers. Their current partnership began in 1972, when they realized that it could bring many benefits. Racing for short and medium distances is a difficult job for many years, they both knew about it, and until 1980 they had a very good team of pigeons of the middle class.
In the early 1990s, one of the two partners left, forcing the other to do the same, working together like a real team of pigeon experts to become the winner of the long-distance race in Belgium. that can bring them closer to international events. With the adoption of this new lifestyle and the time spent with the pigeons, the partnership has increased its team to 18, including newborns.
In long-distance racing, they usually prefer to participate in two races, but it should be noted that they prefer not to participate in two-day races at the expense of one day.The main reason is that the loss in this case is higher, and the number of 18 pigeons in the team may be too small. The main breeders for widowed males have a length of 5 meters, which also corresponds to the size of the breeding cattle, where the growth program is carefully monitored.
The main nurseries are 5 meters long. The height where newborns are kept is 4 meters. All nurseries are well ventilated, without any direct pressure on the pigeons, so as not to affect them. After all, no one likes to let go, and the pigeons are no different. In the compartments contain about 18 pairs of pigeons, with 50-60 newborns for personal use.
In our kennel there are inbreeding sports pigeons of the famous race De Rauw-Sablon. Anyone can buy pigeons of the race De Rauw-Sablon from these manufacturers. You can look at our store, where the pigeons of this race are represented, as well as other very popular races of sports pigeons. You can also write to us for pre-ordering on the purchase of the Pussy sports pigeons of exactly those races that are on the site.
Like many of the best widow races, pigeons are not allowed to raise chickens before the season begins, but they are still allowed to make eggs for 5 or 6 days and then return to the widow’s system.Breeders are grouped on November 28, but since they are not raised by widows, they are left until March 25. By carefully caring for their race-based growth program, the partnership has become a family that they can call their own.
Even so, they continue to bring new pigeons in the way they deserve, as happened in 1980, when Rosseel and De Ridder (long distances) were delivered to an existing middle-class team. Then in 1990 they made new improvements when they replaced some pigeons with Eric Limbourg, De Graeve, Van Geert and Freddy Vandenheede.
Their latest acquisition occurred in 1998 - the newborn “Wittenbuik” from Gaby Vandenabeele. They usually appeal to a very small number of acquisitions, because they ask only the best pigeons, and they already have a very good team that they do not want to spoil. The type of pigeon that is suitable for day races is medium size, and its color is not interesting, because if they are good enough, what is the difference in the color of the pigeon?
Later, the trend in pigeon races began to change, and more and more long-distance races were held in Belgium on demand, so the Belgians raised very good pigeons for this type of racing, De Ridder J, St. Ulrikskapelle (1981) and Rosseel, Oostende (1980).None of the Etienne and Frans had any experience with long-distance pigeons, because their successful years were based on proven and successful middle-distance racing methods. In those years, they were intended only for adult pigeons, which meant that new pigeons for long-distance races were difficult to adapt to a porumer.
The first pigeon that was able to prove their skills was Barcelona 4358204/80, which became a participant in long distance distributions. When she was 8 years old, she participated with the FCD, where he took fourth place in 362 pigeons (international, 413 to 21 194). When she was 9 years old, she took the 6th place among 407 pigeons (international, 527 out of 25.502).When she was 10 years old, she got to the tribal nursery with the whole team. The partnership has shown a very important thing, which most experts do not seem to understand, arguing that they are not interested in long-distance racing, is that in order to win this type of race you need to be patient.
To accommodate newborns in the system, they are initially trained only as widows, which gives them a good start in the dominant race system today. Old pigeons go for 2 long distances and about 3 for long distances (800 km). These specialists are not obliged to work hard, train in the morning and in the evening, for about an hour, which is not mandatory. Newborns receive more or less the same training.
Some features that are expected of future racing pigeons are: good physical condition, beautiful feathers, a white nose and eyelids, and a love of flight.Their food is not at all special and is a mixture of 3 famous brands. Widows eat and drink separately in their cages to prepare for the next races. The best pigeons receive one type of dietary supplement purchased exclusively from Comed: Fertibol, Tempo, Murium, Enriched Oil and Phytoeur for newborns and elderly pigeons. As a precaution for trichomonial, I use Ronidasole 10% and Flagyl 500 mg (one quarter tablet).
As for other medicines, consult with veterinarians because they do not want to give them what they do not need. These breeders do not have theories, and it is firmly believed that some specialists will never have good pigeons, because they have too many different breeds and they are not interested in new scientific material, such as Comed Science. The partnership is very proud that two national champions participate in it (in 1997, at the National Young Pigeon through La Souteraine (563) and in 1998 at the National Perpignan, also the third largest in the world).
